All eyes on moment Ginkgo's leaves fall in WV

LEWISBURG, West Virginia -- "A Ginkgo tree in Lewisburg is putting on quite a show for the people there. It is located on the campus of the New River Community and Technical College. It's the largest Ginkgo tree on public property in the state.

"It usually starts in the morning after a real hard frost or really actually takes a freeze and then it will take about 6 hours and there won't be a leaf on the tree," said Roger Griffith, NRCTC Campus Dean.

The leaves haven't fallen off just yet. Watchers say it could just be a matter of days. The leaves create a golden blanket on the ground that draws visitors to the college. It's located on Church Street in Lewisburg, just north of the main sidewalk on campus."
